This workshop series is designed to address foundational math topics and concepts crucial to continued math success for many KCKCC students. We understand that many students suffer from math anxiety so we hope that by providing a student centered, low stakes, informative and interactive overview of some of the crucial foundational topics in mathematics that students will have improved self-confidence in math. Through this improved confidence, we hope that students will be better able to handle the demands of a math course and be more successful.

Throughout the workshops, group activities will be presented to provide an engaging atmosphere and opportunities for sharing work or talking about math.  Each workshop will contain lecture portions to introduce material and concepts, but emphasis will be placed on skill practice, applications, and group work.

While we feel that students would get the most out this series by attending all the workshops, you can attend any workshops you want without having to attend the entire series. Depending on your level, a workshop may be a review of old material or an introduction to new material. Target audiences are students taking Math Essentials through College Algebra. However, all the workshops are designed to accommodate various levels of math proficiency. For students entering College Algebra or beyond, many of these workshops may serve as a good review.
